Service · Television Recycling

Every TV.
Disassembled, decontaminated, recycled.

CRTs, LCDs, LEDs, plasmas: every type has a different hazard profile. We handle each one properly instead of stacking them in a corner.

§ Process

How it actually gets broken down.

  1. 01

    Pickup and triage

We label and photograph each set on pickup. CRTs ride flat, screens up, to avoid imploding tubes. Flat panels stack on padded racks.

  2. 02

    Type identified

At the facility, every set is sorted by panel technology. CRT, LCD, LED, plasma, and rear-projection each take a different path.

  3. 03

    Lead glass routed

CRT tubes are broken in a vented enclosure. The leaded glass goes to a certified smelter; phosphor coatings are captured separately.

  4. 04

    Mercury lamps captured

LCD backlight lamps contain mercury vapor. They are removed intact and shipped to a Universal Waste lamp recycler.

  5. 05

    Boards and copper

Circuit boards go to the same precious-metal refiner we use for e-waste. Copper from transformers and yokes is bundled for scrap.

  6. 06

    Plastics and metals

Cabinets are sorted by polymer (ABS, HIPS) and chassis steel is recovered. Nothing leaves headed for landfill.

§ FAQ

Common questions.

No. Massachusetts has banned CRTs and television screens from trash disposal since 2000, and most transfer stations refuse them or charge fees. We pick up any TV at your door and route every component, including leaded glass and mercury lamps, to certified recycling streams.

Flat-screen and box TVs are a flat $31.80 including pickup, transport, and certified recycling, with a $40.00 minimum per pickup. Tube TVs and large consoles vary by size and weight, so those are quoted on the call.
